Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with structural simulation experience in the consumer electronics industry.
- 5 years of experience using design tools such as NX or similar CAD software.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with designing, building and testing prototypes to validate design concept and analysis result.
- Experience setting up both a material lab and development of validation tools.
- Experience with advanced material characterization and modeling for developing numerical models.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal forming and die casting, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

Our mission is to design and develop top-notch quality Google hardware products through predictable and efficient simulation and validation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risk, create analysis/simulation/validation plan, brainstorm and propose solutions to problems based on analysis data, iterate through the entire product development cycle to optimize the design to achieve product performance objectives.
- Own and drive analysis of cutting edge designs, enabling early optimization prior to prototyping and root cause and failure analysis of complex mechanical problems.
- Generate FEA/analytical models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies; Use Static, dynamic, structural and thermal-mechanical analysis and create and develop methods to predict field failure models.
- Build simulation models by using verification, calibration, and validation techniques and best practices leading to high-quality results.
- Drive the exploration, validation and integration of new technologies, materials, analysis methods and tools to advance and expand team capabilities.
