About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director of Development to lead philanthropic efforts in support of its neuroscience institute. This high-impact leadership role is pivotal in advancing the mission of the institute, which is dedicated to world-class research, education, and patient care in the field of neuroscience. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership in all philanthropic activities, including the development and execution of a comprehensive major gift strategy. This involves personally managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, leading a team of development professionals, and working closely with senior academic and clinical leaders to translate institutional priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years' of fundraising experience, with a proven track record in securing major gifts, preferably in complex environments such as academic medicine or research institutions. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director of Development include sustaining and deepening donor engagement, as well as positioning the institute for future campaign activity. The role requires a strategic thinker, a collaborative partner, and a visible presence with exceptional communication skills. A deep commitment to the missions of the company and the institute is essential, as is experience in working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including physician leaders, scientists, volunteers, and senior executives. The Executive Director will also collaborate with colleagues in areas such as prospect development, gift planning, stewardship, and corporate and foundation relations to ensure strong alignment and maximize philanthropic impact.
