About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean of Medicine to lead its academic health enterprise. This dual role is pivotal in advancing the institution's health strategy, with a focus on integrating education, research, and clinical care. The successful candidate will be responsible for the continued growth and integration of the clinical practice enterprise, with a central priority on financial sustainability and operational performance. Strong business acumen and experience in managing complex academic and clinical enterprises are essential, as is a background in academic medicine or a related environment, including experience in clinical revenue, state support, and philanthropy. The role demands a strategic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative leader who can shape the future of healthcare delivery and medical education in the region. The ideal candidate will hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with the credentials for a tenured full professor, be board certified or board eligible, and have a proven track record in managing large budgets, recruiting and retaining faculty and specialty physicians, and engaging with external stakeholders. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the economic and social vitality of the region, particularly in addressing the local shortage of physicians and improving healthcare access and outcomes. The Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean will also play a key role in advancing the Academic Health Center initiative and will be expected to work in close partnership with the institution's hospital partner and other health science colleges.
