About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) to serve as the inaugural system-level leader, providing strategic guidance for professional nursing practice across a vast and esteemed academic health system. This pivotal role is dedicated to ensuring that nursing leadership, expertise, and perspectives are integral to the development of the system's clinical priorities and strategic direction. The CNE will be the senior-most nursing leader, responsible for unifying quality performance, clinical practice, and professional standards for nursing across all the company's entities. Collaboration with senior leaders, institute leaders, department chairs, and operations executives is essential to elevate the voice of the nursing community and establish a clear pathway for nurses to influence decisions that align with the company's mission. The ideal candidate for the CNE position at the company will be a seasoned leader with a proven track record in a large, complex, and high-performing health system, and will be recognized as an influential voice in national nursing practice. Deep knowledge and experience in nursing practice, care management systems, quality and safety, innovation, and the implementation of best practices are required. Familiarity with nursing and medical research, as well as a strong understanding of nursing education and development, is highly desirable. The successful CNE will be a skilled communicator and leader, committed to driving change and fostering an environment that promotes retention, professional development, employee satisfaction, and wellness. A relational, servant-leadership mindset grounded in mutual respect, transparency, humility, collaboration, and accountability is essential for this highly visible role.
