About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as a senior thought-partner to the CEO in the development and execution of a strategic plan that ensures the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization. The COO will be responsible for driving new initiatives, expanding existing revenue lines, and creating new revenue models. This role requires the ability to build and maintain deep relationships with member companies, the Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be tasked with proactively identifying and addressing operational gaps, leading critical aspects of the external environment, and being a role model for the organization's culture. Candidates for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of proven management experience in the association sector, with a focus on strategic growth and organizational execution. The role demands an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and energetic self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills. The COO will provide strategic oversight to various functions, including events, marketing, finance, IT, facilities, and HR. A background in building a membership organization or working with similar stakeholders is essential, and experience in the biotech or pharma space is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, with an MBA or other advanced degree preferred, and must demonstrate exceptional communication, influence, and leadership skills.
