About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for one of its acute care hospitals. The CNO will serve as the acute care nursing leader, responsible for monitoring and upholding the standards of nursing practice and patient care. This role involves full oversight of nursing services, leadership in planning and coordinating patient care, and ensuring that services are in line with the organization's policies and quality standards. The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of professional nursing care, resource allocation, and the achievement of clinical and financial objectives. Key functions include leading in a changing environment, implementing quality improvement plans, and fostering a culture of professional nursing practice and leadership excellence. Candidates for the CNO position must have a BSN, with an MSN preferred, and a valid RN license or eligibility for transfer. A minimum of 5 years' related experience, including 3-5 years in a management or leadership role, is required. Experience in a non-union healthcare environment and with labor relations is preferred. The CNO will be expected to be 24/7 accountable, design and achieve budgets, and collaborate with finance and site leadership. The role also involves advancing nursing practice, implementing best practice interventions, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, adept at managing operational issues, and committed to the continuous improvement of patient care and nursing practice.
