About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Animal Care and Use Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the ethical and humane care and use of animals in research and teaching. This role involves managing a team of professionals, including veterinarians, animal care staff, and researchers, to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Executive Director will also be tasked with providing guidance and support to the research community on the proper and responsible use of animals in scientific activities. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a DVM or Ph.D. in a relevant field, with a strong background in laboratory animal science and management. The role requires a deep understanding of animal welfare regulations and guidelines, as well as experience in developing and conducting training programs for staff and researchers. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to the ethical treatment of animals in a research setting. A certification from the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) is preferred.
