About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its multi-faceted cultural institution, which is dedicated to the preservation, celebration, and advancement of the story of country music. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic and organizational leadership, financial management, and revenue growth, as well as overseeing the development and operation of the museum, and ensuring high-quality, mission-aligned programming. This role requires a leader with a deep appreciation for the cultural significance of country music, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a passion for community engagement and cultural impact. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering a collaborative, mission-driven organizational culture and will work closely with the Board of Directors and the founder to guide the institution into its next phase of growth. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have at least 7 years' of significant leadership experience in a nonprofit, cultural, museum, performing arts, or related organization. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in fundraising, experience in managing budgets and financial operations, and the ability to work effectively in both performing arts programming and museum/exhibition contexts. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, be adept at building and leading a high-performing team, and have a collaborative and inclusive leadership style. Responsibilities also include serving as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, supporting effective governance, and representing the organization publicly. The Executive Director will play a central role in shaping the institution's educational programs, community events, and partnerships, and will be instrumental in ensuring that the company fulfills its promise as a destination for music, history, education, and community.
