About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of advancing environmental justice through community-driven organizing, advocacy, and policy change. The successful candidate will be the chief executive leader, responsible for the strategic direction, organizational leadership, financial sustainability, and community impact. This role involves guiding the organization through a phase of stabilization, growth, and renewed community-centered organizing, while maintaining strong financial health, operational transparency, and mission-aligned programmatic impact. The Executive Director will also be the primary external representative, strengthening relationships with various stakeholders, and will work to cultivate a values-driven organizational culture that empowers leadership at all levels. Candidates for the Executive Director position at the company should have a proven track record in organizational leadership, with experience in community organizing, advocacy, and coalition building. The role requires a leader who can navigate a critical period of transformation, while upholding the organization's legacy of advocacy victories and deep community trust. The ideal candidate will have a strong in-person community presence, be adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders, and be committed to the values of environmental justice, public health, and community empowerment. A background in environmental science, public policy, social work, or a related field is preferred, and a deep understanding of the issues facing frontline communities is essential. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and various partners, so excellent communication, management, and collaboration skills are a must.
