Key responsibilities include designing and managing a multi-year advancement strategy, partnering with the CEO and Board of Directors to set annual fundraising goals, and fostering a culture of philanthropy. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong planning and analytical skills, exceptional relationship-building abilities, and a donor-centered mindset. The Chief Advancement Officer will also be responsible for brand management, overseeing all communications and marketing initiatives, and serving as a primary external representative to enhance the organization's visibility and credibility. The ideal candidate for the Chief Advancement Officer position at the company will have a proven track record in securing major and transformational gifts, experience in supervising development or communications staff, and proficiency with donor relationship management platforms. They should be a clear, compelling communicator with strong storytelling capabilities, and possess a collaborative leadership style that can motivate and support teams. The role requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity, as well as the ability to manage a personal portfolio of major donors and lead a comprehensive stewardship program. The Chief Advancement Officer will also be responsible for maintaining effective donor database systems, managing departmental budgeting, and ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in all development activities.
