About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel for Investments to join their mission-driven organization. This role is pivotal in providing legal and regulatory guidance for the company's investment activities, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in the execution of investment strategies. The successful candidate will be fully integrated into the investment team, partnering with investment professionals and outside counsel on the legal aspects of public and private fund investments. Responsibilities include leading the legal process for fund and co-investment opportunities, drafting and negotiating fund agreements, and tailoring legal documentation to meet the unique requirements of tax-exempt and mission-driven entities. The role also involves monitoring legal, tax, and policy developments relevant to philanthropic and investment activities. Applicants must have a JD and a minimum of 10 years' legal experience in fund and asset management, with a focus on hedge funds and private equity. A strong background in investor-side review and negotiation of fund agreements is essential, as is familiarity with compliance and regulatory issues for various types of investors. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional academic background, excellent legal writing and communication skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. A collaborative mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and a commitment to high-quality, mission-aligned client service are also key attributes for this role. The position requires an individual with uncompromising integrity, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
