About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Legal to join its executive team. This role is pivotal in providing legal leadership across a wide range of areas, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment, and litigation. The successful candidate will be the primary legal advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors, and will be responsible for supporting public company requirements, leading governance processes, and partnering with various functions to provide business-focused legal guidance. The VP of Legal will also own the legal aspects of commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, and M&A activities, and will be tasked with establishing and maintaining the company's IP portfolio strategy. Key competencies for this role include executive presence, commercial instinct, and a strong background in M&A. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and a minimum of 10 years of in-house legal experience, with a significant tenure at a publicly-traded company. Experience in gaming, advertising technology, or consumer technology is highly valued. The role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record in managing outside counsel, leading legal work streams in M&A, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, particularly in the areas of gaming, privacy law, and ad tech. The VP of Legal will be expected to be an operational builder, developing training systems, and using structured frameworks to manage legal decisions effectively.
