About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Instruction/Chief Academic Officer to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the growth and quality of its academic programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for curriculum development, enrollment growth, and ensuring the relevance of academic programs to workforce needs. This role involves maintaining compliance with curriculum standards, identifying professional development opportunities, and fostering partnerships with K-12 and four-year institutions. The Vice President of Instruction will also be a key figure in the President's Executive Leadership Team, working closely with academic deans, directors, and other stakeholders to enhance the academic enterprise. Applicants must have a Master's degree (doctorate preferred) and a minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in higher education administration, with a strong background in teaching. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in innovation, achievement, and student success, as well as the ability to build effective programs and partnerships. Key qualifications include a commitment to the mission of community colleges, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to use data for decision-making. The role requires a leader who can manage change, and strategic planning, and is adept at budgeting in a complex work environment. The Vice President of Instruction will also serve as a liaison to accrediting agencies and the NCCCS on all instructional matters.
