About the Role

The Company is in search of a Head of Trading Documentation to join its legal department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the negotiation and management of a wide range of trading agreements, including but not limited to, prime brokerage, stock loan, ISDA, repo, futures, and electronic trading agreements. This senior strategic role requires a proactive, energetic, and hardworking individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interface with global offices. Key responsibilities include assisting with the review and negotiation of bespoke trading documentation, liaising with various business and legal teams, and acting as the primary contact with external counsel for all trading agreement negotiations. Applicants must have a JD degree, approximately 7-9 years of experience in a law firm or legal department of a financial services or investment management firm, and a strong understanding of clearing, netting, collateral, and insolvency issues across all asset classes. The role demands a candidate who is well-organized, tech-savvy, and has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Superior analytical, oral, and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to ensure that key business and legal questions are answered, risks are properly vetted, and relevant deadlines are met. Experience with document management systems, particularly Sales Force (Fusion) and iManage, is preferred. The ideal candidate will be responsive, collegial, and have a strong attention to detail.
