About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director to lead its mission of alleviating hunger through the recovery and distribution of fresh, nutritious food. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include partnering with the Board of Directors to shape and execute the strategic direction, serving as the primary ambassador for the mission, and leading the organization through a period of growth and transition. The role demands a disciplined focus on sustainability, the ability to balance growth with capacity, and a commitment to preserving the organization's culture while strengthening its systems and visibility. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, and a background in active fundraising from diverse sources. They should be adept at leading geographically dispersed teams, with a focus on staff development, and possess excellent communication skills. Financial management experience, including budgeting and resource stewardship, is essential. The Executive Director will also be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, strengthening internal systems, and ensuring that the organization's infrastructure keeps pace with its mission. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred, and a background in the agricultural industry is strongly valued.
