About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the business and operational leader of its Faculty Practice Plan. The COO will be responsible for advancing performance in various domains, including ambulatory market strategy, clinical excellence, operational performance, and the overall experience of patients, providers, and employees. This role requires a deep understanding of academic medicine and operational excellence, with a focus on regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and the integration of emerging technologies to optimize patient outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and other key stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of the practice entity with the academic departments, and will be central to the development of a more aligned, efficient, and integrated practice structure. Candidates for the COO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading through influence, building consensus, and managing change in a shared decision-making environment. Financial stewardship, including planning and budgeting, is a critical aspect of the role, and the COO will be expected to ensure the long-term sustainability and fiscal health of the practice plan. Success in this position will be measured not only by operational outcomes but also by the ability to build relationships, earn trust, and guide the organization towards greater consistency, coordination, and enterprise-thinking, all while upholding the academic and clinical missions.
