About the Role

The role also involves event planning, and most importantly, cultivating donor relationships and fundraising to support the mission of the NMP. Applicants for the Managing Director position at the National Marriage Project should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Ph.D., and at least 2 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent teaching skills, and experience in managing an academic program or nonprofit organization. A commitment to the mission of the NMP, which is to strengthen the culture of marriage, is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, the capacity to fundraise, and the ability to engage in national conversations about marriage. The Managing Director will be expected to work closely with the Director of the NMP and the Sociology Department, and to be a visible and active presence in the academic community.
