About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of connecting K-12 educators and community partners with training and resources for outdoor-based learning. The successful candidate will be the chief executive and senior leader, responsible for advancing the organization's business plan, fundraising, daily operations, and statewide impact. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in senior management, content knowledge in education or related fields, and experience in fiscal management and budgeting. The Executive Director will also be expected to provide leadership in policy advocacy, and partnership development, and to strengthen the organization's role in education policy and cross-sector collaboration. Candidates for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with an advanced degree preferred, in education, science, nonprofit management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a systems perspective, the ability to work collaboratively, and experience in building relationships and soliciting funds. Key competencies include the ability to work in a collaborative environment, persuasive communication skills, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. The role demands a mission-driven individual with a passion for the organization's vision, integrity, and the ability to make sound decisions. Nonprofit management experience and the ability to navigate the political and policy landscape, particularly in the state of Washington, are also essential.
