About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to play a pivotal role in the development of its AI operating system for oncology. This strategic and hands-on leader will be responsible for building and defining the legal function from the ground up, with a focus on shaping product decisions, building compliance infrastructure, and establishing governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have 8-15+ years of legal experience, with a background in health tech, digital health, healthcare SaaS, or regulated AI, and deep expertise in HIPAA, health data privacy, and enterprise SaaS contracting. The role involves advising on a range of legal and regulatory matters, including HIPAA, HITECH, state privacy laws, and emerging AI regulatory frameworks, as well as leading the negotiation of various commercial agreements and strategic partnerships. Applicants for the Head of Legal position at the company should be comfortable operating as a solo senior legal leader in a scaling environment and possess strong business judgment with the ability to balance risk and velocity. The role also includes responsibilities in AI and data governance, corporate and strategic legal matters, and the management of external counsel relationships. Experience with FDA-regulated software, exposure to value-based care or payer/provider systems, and a background at a venture-backed startup are considered nice to haves. This is a unique opportunity to be the first senior legal hire with full ownership of the function, directly influence product architecture and company strategy, and shape AI governance at a critical regulatory inflection point.
