About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will be the principal steward of the organization's financial health, sustainability, and strategic fiscal direction. This role is pivotal in ensuring strong financial management, regulatory compliance, and transparency within a complex, grant-funded nonprofit environment. The successful candidate will lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term fiscal strategy, and will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial analysis to support executive decision-making. The CFO will also oversee cash flow management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation, and will be deeply involved in accounting, compliance, and grant management. Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree or CPA preferred, and a minimum of 5 years' of senior-level financial leadership experience, ideally within a large complex nonprofit or grant-funded environment. The role requires a strategic and hands-on financial leader with expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, audits, compliance, and financial systems management. Experience with complex funding streams, including government contracts and grants, is essential. The CFO will also be expected to have strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and to be proficient in financial systems, with a preference for those with experience in Blackbaud Financial Edge or comparable platforms. The position demands a leader who can mentor and develop a finance team, promote a culture of accountability and collaboration, and ensure that staff are aligned with the organization's goals and compliance requirements.
