This includes advising on product integrations, intellectual property, consumer protection, and legal considerations specific to autonomy and AI. The role involves serving as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, leading projects on global commercial contracts, compliance, safety, and IP protection, and developing policies that manage risk while fostering innovation. Applicants for the Head of Product Counsel position at the company should be business-minded, execution-oriented lawyers with a strong background in counseling software products, particularly in the areas of open source, IP transactions, and privacy-compliant software development. The ideal candidate will have approximately 12+ years of experience, with a preference for those who have worked in technology companies or similar innovative environments. A J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar are required. Experience in both law firm and in-house practice is preferred, and familiarity with machine learning, autonomy, and related technologies is highly desirable. The role demands a candidate who is energized by technology, comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous setting, and capable of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
