About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of External Relations to join their team. The successful candidate will be a senior executive leader with a proven track record in capital raising, investor relations, grant management, and strategic communications. This role is pivotal in directing the organization's resource development, investor relations, capitalization strategy, grant writing, marketing, and communications efforts. The Vice President will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise loan capital and operating funds, ensuring that marketing and development communication strategies align with the organization's programs and funding opportunities. They will also be tasked with cultivating and managing relationships with funders and investors across various sectors, and with overseeing the impact tracking and reporting initiatives. Applicants for the Vice President of External Relations position at the company should have experience in cultivating relationships across philanthropic, financial, government, and institutional funding sectors. Strong leadership, collaboration, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to structure and manage complex funding relationships and financing agreements. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and external representation experience. Knowledge of CDFI funding environments, community development finance, or mission-driven capitalization strategies is strongly preferred. The candidate must be willing to travel throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts and be prepared to serve as a public spokesperson and senior media liaison for the organization.
