About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Public Safety to serve as its chief public safety officer, providing strategic direction and executive leadership to ensure the safety and security of the campus community. The successful candidate will be responsible for the enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, as well as the development and implementation of comprehensive safety and emergency management strategies. This role involves overseeing a wide range of public safety operations, including investigations, special operations, intelligence, training, and support services. The AVP will also be tasked with building and maintaining partnerships with various stakeholders, both within the institution and with external agencies, and leading efforts to secure funding for safety and security initiatives. Applicants for the AVP position at the company should possess a master’s degree and a minimum of six years of executive-level experience in law enforcement, or a bachelor’s degree and eight years in the same. Extensive experience in incident preparedness and threat assessment is essential, with a preference for those with prior law enforcement experience in a university setting and advanced expertise in campus safety and security technologies. They should be adept at cultivating collaborative relationships, exercising thoughtful judgment, and leading with steadiness during crises.
