About the Role
The Company is seeking a Private Credit Managing Director to take on a full-cycle investment role in the lower middle market. The successful candidate will be responsible for the origination, execution, and portfolio management of 7-8 high-quality sponsor-backed deals. This role requires a hands-on approach, including sitting on portfolio company boards and driving value creation strategies. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in private credit, mezzanine, or SBIC-backed investing, with a proven track record of both deal origination and underwriting. Strong operational and board-level experience is preferred, and the candidate should possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and grow a regional franchise. Key responsibilities for the Managing Director include building and maintaining a regional portfolio, representing the firm externally, and contributing to brand-building in the market. The role demands a candidate who is based on the East Coast or is open to relocating and who is adept at working closely with sponsors, management teams, and internal stakeholders to drive value.
