About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior University Counsel with a focus on tax law to provide expert legal advice and guidance on tax-related matters, particularly in the context of structuring investments and developing tax strategies to optimize investment returns. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting tax research and analysis to support investment decisions and will work closely with the senior leadership of the investment office. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and tax laws specific to investment management organizations. The Senior University Counsel will be a key member of a dedicated legal team, supporting the long-term and current legal needs of the investment office. Applicants for the Senior University Counsel position should have a minimum of 10 years' of relevant tax law experience, with a strong understanding of IRS regulations and tax laws as they pertain to investment management. An advanced degree in taxation is preferred, and familiarity with endowment management and investment practices is a valuable asset. The role requires a collaborative approach, the ability to work with senior leadership, and a commitment to providing legal support that aligns with the mission of the University. The position is part of a national search, and while not a requirement, the company is open to considering candidates who may need to relocate.
