About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to serve as the pivotal link between clinical practice and health information technology. The CMIO will be responsible for leading the clinical informatics and training teams, establishing and operating effective governance for clinical informatics and AI, and driving the enterprise adoption and scaling of clinical AI. This role also involves leading EHR modernization, standardizing clinical workflows, and ensuring that technology investments align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The CMIO will be a key clinical leader for major health IT initiatives, including vendor partnerships, and will be expected to maintain a limited clinical practice to stay connected with frontline clinical needs. Applicants for the CMIO position at the company must be practicing physicians with recent frontline clinical experience, Board-certified in a clinical specialty, and willing to maintain a limited clinical practice. A minimum of 5 years' progressive management/leadership experience, experience in both inpatient and ambulatory clinical workflows, and a proven track record in leading clinical informatics or EHR optimization work are required. The ideal candidate will have strong provider engagement skills, the ability to translate clinical priorities into IT work, and experience in aligning informatics initiatives with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Preferred qualifications include experience as a CMIO or Associate CMIO, deep experience with a major EHR platform, formal informatics training, and participation in external informatics forums.
