About the Role

The Company is in search of a strategic and collaborative Executive Director for Academic Unit Development. This pivotal leadership role involves leading a team of gift officers in advancing fundraising across the academic colleges, particularly in the context of a comprehensive fundraising campaign. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mentorship, strategy, and accountability in a metrics-driven environment, and will work closely with deans and academic leadership to design and execute unit-based fundraising and alumni relations strategies. A key aspect of the role is to maintain a personal portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, while also guiding the team to significantly expand philanthropic capacity and alumni engagement. The ideal Executive Director will have a minimum of 8 years' major gift fundraising experience, a proven track record in closing six- and seven-figure commitments, and the ability to lead and inspire a team of development professionals. They must be a collaborative and confident leader with the intellectual depth and political acumen to build trust with deans, faculty, and senior university leadership. The role requires a strategic mindset to help the company seize this pivotal campaign moment and a commitment to the values of access, academic excellence, and innovation. The Executive Director will play a critical role in the company's mission to drive economic, cultural, and social advancement in the region and beyond.
