About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Credit Policy and Analytics to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and overseeing the credit policy and analytics function, with a focus on small business financing and emerging embedded finance products. This pivotal role involves leading the development, validation, and implementation of advanced AI/ML models and strategies to manage the risk appetite and expand access to finance for small businesses. The VP will also be tasked with developing and maintaining key portfolio KPIs, supporting business operations with data-driven insights, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure the production and quality of decisioning strategies. Applicants must have 8-10 years of credit and/or analytics experience, with a strong preference for those with 3+ years of direct merchant/SMB risk experience. Deep knowledge of underwriting using various data sources and a proven track record of implementing business intelligence-based optimization strategies are essential. The role requires a leader with at least 5 years of experience in leading and scaling analytics teams, as well as fluency in SQL and Python or R. The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, with advanced MS/PhD qualifications being a plus. The VP will also be expected to coach and mentor the analytics team, manage executive discussions on analytics prioritization, and ensure the team is equipped to be effective credit and business intelligence champions.
