About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to spearhead its fundraising, partnerships, and advancement strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive development plan to support the organization's ambitious goal of expanding its reach. This role requires a seasoned development leader with a proven track record in strategic fundraising, particularly in individual and major giving. The Chief Development Officer will be expected to lead a team, optimize direct response programs, and manage a diversified portfolio of supporters. Key responsibilities include setting and meeting revenue targets, strengthening donor stewardship, and promoting a culture of philanthropy. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept at engaging with donors, and will serve as a visible ambassador for the organization. Candidates for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree and/or CFRE preferred) and at least 10 years of fundraising leadership experience. A deep commitment to the mission of the organization, which is dedicated to relieving isolation and loneliness among older adults, is essential. The role demands a leader with strong financial acumen, the ability to align fundraising with organizational sustainability, and a proven ability to grow donor relationships. Experience in major and legacy giving, as well as a familiarity with the philanthropic landscape in the relevant regions, is highly desirable. The Chief Development Officer will also be responsible for engaging the Board in fundraising efforts and must be prepared to work closely with the executive team, staff, and volunteers to ensure the success of the organization's philanthropic initiatives.
