About the Role
The Company is in need of a General Manager to oversee its wholesale bakery business, which generates $10 million in revenue and specializes in high-quality baked goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the sales strategy, including direct sales and management of food brokers, and will play a key role in revenue generation, pricing, and promotions. This role also involves setting performance targets for brokers, developing pricing strategies, and ensuring the consistent quality and on-time fulfillment of products. The General Manager will be hands-on in daily bakery production, supply chain operations, and will lead a team that includes production, supply chain, sales, quality, and admin staff. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing, with a preference for those with a background in bakery, snacks, or perishables. The role requires strong P&L ownership, proven experience in managing food brokers and multi-channel sales, and a deep knowledge of food safety, GMP, and quality systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning, lean manufacturing, and cost controls, and hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. The General Manager will also be responsible for finance and administration, including managing the full P&L, cash flow, and operating expenses, and driving cost control initiatives.
