About the Role

The Company is in search of a Superintendent of Visitor Protection and Law Enforcement to lead and elevate its statewide visitor-protection program. The successful candidate will be a strategic, service-oriented leader with a strong background in law enforcement, including a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. This role is pivotal in shaping the public's experience of safety, support, and stewardship in outdoor environments. The Superintendent will be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of rangers and law-enforcement professionals, ensuring that their work is mission-aligned, education-focused, and community-oriented. Key responsibilities include providing policy direction, strategic leadership, and fostering a culture of respectful public engagement and professional communication. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of law enforcement experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or program management role, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. They should be adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with local and state partners and be experienced in setting and implementing policy direction. The role requires a leader who is approachable, trustworthy, and capable of modernizing public safety programs. The Superintendent will also be involved in strategic planning, program management, and evaluation, and must have a background in community-oriented or education-based policing. A calm, solutions-focused approach to visitor interactions, and a commitment to continuous improvement, are essential for this position.
