About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel for Government Contracts and Compliance with a focus on U.S. federal government contracting, particularly within defense environments. The successful candidate will be a legal subject matter expert in DFARS, DoD contracting, and regulatory compliance frameworks, playing a critical role in ensuring compliance across the full lifecycle of government programs. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary legal counsel on government contracting matters, advising on DoD contracts, providing legal guidance on cybersecurity and data protection requirements, and supporting proposal development, contract negotiations, and risk assessments. The role also involves drafting and negotiating various agreements, ensuring subcontractor compliance, and partnering with cross-functional teams to uphold contractual and regulatory requirements. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school, a minimum of 7 years' of experience in government contracts and defense compliance, and a strong background in FAR and DFARS. Experience in CMMC, NIST frameworks, or cybersecurity requirements in a government contracting environment is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing compliance issues, audits, and investigations, and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical business guidance. Admission to at least one U.S. state bar is required, with a preference for those who have worked with or within the Department of Defense or other federal agencies. Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills are also necessary for this role.
