About the Role

The Company is seeking a Department Head of Engineering to lead its newly approved Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the Department's expansion into advanced manufacturing, a key focus of the company's strategic plan to support economic development through industrial and community partnerships. The role involves not only academic leadership but also active engagement with leading manufacturers in the region to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of the high-tech, fast-evolving workplace. The Department Head will be responsible for overseeing the academic programs in engineering, including the BS in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, the BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, and the Associate of Applied Science degrees in Electronics Technology and General Technology. Applicants for the Department Head position must hold a Ph.D. in Engineering from an accredited institution and have a minimum of 4 years' of teaching or industry experience, with a strong record of professional accomplishments and scholarship. The ideal candidate will have a background in advanced manufacturing, leadership experience, and a proven track record in developing new curriculum. The role requires a dynamic individual who can foster academic excellence, promote research, and build strong relationships with both the academic and industrial communities. The Department Head will also be involved in the recruitment and retention of faculty and students, as well as in the strategic planning and growth of the engineering programs.
