About the Role

The Company is seeking a Department Head and Endowed Chair in Computer Science. The successful candidate will be a full Professor and the primary administrator and leader of the academic unit, with a focus on managing faculty, academic program development, budget oversight, and fostering industry and community engagement. This role is pivotal in the strategic expansion of computer and data science, particularly in the context of the Five Pillars of Excellence identified in the 2023-28 strategic plan. The Department Head will also be responsible for a 15-credit hour teaching load and must be committed to the success of first-generation and non-traditional learners. Applicants for the Department Head and Endowed Chair position must hold a Ph.D. in computer science or a related discipline and have a minimum of 3 years' demonstrated leadership experience. The role requires a strong scholarly record, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the values of the institution. The ideal candidate will be a distinguished scholar and leader, capable of upholding the standards of the endowed chair position.
