About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Credit Risk to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading counterparty credit risk across various financial activities, including derivatives, lending, funding, and deposits. This pivotal role involves setting the risk appetite, approving transactions, and collaborating with trading, lending, and senior leadership. The Head of Credit Risk will be expected to have a strong background in financial institutions credit, sound risk judgment, and the ability to independently assess, defend, and communicate credit decisions. Key responsibilities for the Head of Credit Risk include assessing the creditworthiness of financial institution counterparties, defining and monitoring credit risk appetite, approving transactions with a focus on documentation and risk mitigants, underwriting lending transactions, and providing leadership and mentorship to junior credit professionals. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least 5 years of experience in counterparty credit risk or related areas, and a deep understanding of the financial industry, particularly in the context of derivatives, funding, and lending products. Technical skills in credit agreements and risk rating frameworks are essential, as is the ability to make independent credit decisions and lead a high-performing team.
