About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to join its senior leadership team and spearhead the strategic design and execution of comprehensive fundraising efforts. The CAO will be responsible for leading a best-in-class fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission and ensures financial sustainability. This includes establishing and reporting on performance metrics, crafting a structured donor pipeline, and collaborating with program leaders and finance to maximize the impact of fundraising activities. The ideal candidate will be a natural relationship-builder, a strategic thinker, and a dynamic frontline fundraiser with a proven track record in securing major gifts. They should be passionate about the organization's mission, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and be committed to advancing equity and access within the community. Candidates for the CAO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' fundraising experience, with a strong background in securing transformative major gifts and leading a development team. Proficiency in fundraising software is required, and experience with complex nonprofit organizations is preferred. The role demands a leader with a goal-oriented, can-do attitude, and a commitment to mentoring and developing their team. The successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of evolving the department's structure and workflows to meet ambitious goals. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage with a variety of audiences and to communicate the impact of the organization's programs in a compelling way.
