About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion values on nonprofit boards, with a focus on creating pathways for leaders of color. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall leadership, guiding strategy, fundraising, and external relationships, and ensuring that the organization's work is deeply rooted in the community and aligned with its mission. This role requires a leader with a deep commitment to racial justice, inclusion, and community-centered leadership, who can engage with complexity, and lead with conviction in both supportive and resistant environments. The Executive Director will also be tasked with strengthening and diversifying revenue, deepening the organization's voice and visibility, and sustaining strong, community-centered programming. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include mission and strategic leadership, fundraising, and external relations, as well as organizational and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, experience in operationalizing equity values, and the ability to build trust and credibility across diverse communities. They should be adept at leading through growth and transition, and have excellent communication skills to represent the organization effectively. A builder's mindset, strong strategic thinking, and experience with nonprofit governance are also essential. The role is pivotal in guiding the organization through a leadership transition, and the Executive Director will be expected to honor the organization's legacy while building the clarity, structure, and durability needed for the future.
