Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, and addiction issues. Your energetic approach will help create a safe, supportive environment where clients can progress toward their personal goals. You will collaborate closely with clinical staff to implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Duties

Assist patients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting independence
Conduct behavioral assessments and collect data on patient responses to treatment interventions
Implement behavior management strategies based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to support positive behavior change
Monitor vital signs and administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols
Support crisis intervention efforts by managing emergency situations calmly and effectively
Document all patient interactions, progress notes, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards
Engage in intake procedures to gather comprehensive patient histories and assist in developing personalized care plans
Collaborate with social workers and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and facilitate communication among team members
Assist in providing specialized care for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, PTSD, or addiction issues
Participate in ongoing training related to crisis management, behavior management, medical terminology, and data collection
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in behavioral health or related fields preferred
Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities highly desirable
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols
Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and behavior management strategies
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and medical documentation standards
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and patients
Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to patient care and safety
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while maintaining professionalism
This position requires physical activity, including but not limited to: prolonged standing and walking, kneeling or sitting on the floor, lifting up to 50 lbs, and the ability to physically assist or redirect as needed. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations.
