About the Role
The Human Rights Coalition (HRC) is seeking a motivated Community Outreach Team Member for field-based engagement in West Philadelphia. This part-time role focuses on canvassing, community organizing, and building local relationships to support human rights initiatives. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Field Outreach & Canvassing: Conduct door-to-door and street outreach in West Philly neighborhoods to share information and invite residents to HRC events.
• Event Support: Assist with community event logistics, including setup, breakdown, flyer distribution, and participant check-in.
• Relationship Building: Act as a liaison between HRC and West Philadelphia small businesses, block captains, and community organizations.
• Data Entry & Reporting: Use basic tracking tools to record outreach results, including contact information and community feedback, after each shift.
• Lead Generation: Conduct "call-time" and follow-ups to increase event turnout and service referrals.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

• Strong Communication Skills: Must be comfortable initiating conversations with strangers and public speaking in diverse community settings.
• Reliability: Proven ability to follow a shift plan and maintain punctuality for field assignments.
• Experience: Previous experience in community outreach, political canvassing, non-profit advocacy, or customer service is highly preferred.
• Local Knowledge: A strong connection to or "lived experience" within the West Philadelphia community (Zip codes 19131, 19139, 19143, 19151) is a major plus.

Schedule & Compensation

• Pay Rate: $50/hour (Flat rate of $200 per 4-hour shift).
• Hours: Flexible part-time scheduling; includes some evenings and weekends based on community event calendars.
