Additional Information About the Role

BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Charge Orthopedic General Radiology Technologist  for the Center For Advanced Medicine (CAM) in  Barnes-Jewish Hospital

 

Position Details:

  • Day Shift Hours:  Monday - Friday rotating weekly (6:30am -3pm) & (8:30am – 5pm)
  • Lead team in day-to-day tasks,  manage and run workflow,  Problem solving, Scheduling, Reporting, Perform diagnostic orthopedic imaging CR and DR and procedures under c-arm, along with other day to day tasks within the department
  • 2 plus years Orthopedic and C Arm Experience (highly preferred)
  • NO Evenings/Holidays/Weekends

 

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R)
  • Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • 2 years or more experience

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in general radiology on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem-solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to the team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures. Informs patient on instructions and what the procedure entails with a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently, in on-call situations (if applicable), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department.
  • Manages shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs. Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets.
  • Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring.
  • Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and leadership team. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.
