Position Details:

Location: Mercy Hospital - Oklahoma City (W Memorial Rd)

Shift: Part Time, PRN (as needed) NO CALL REQUIREMENT

This position will be responsible for caring for the endoscopy patient under the direction of a Registered Nurse during pre-op, procedure, and recovery phases. Additional responsibilities will include performing (and assisting physicians during) endoscopy procedures and high-level disinfection practices in Scope Room; anticipating physician needs; and assisting with endoscopy devices and endoscopes before, during, and after procedures.

This position will have the opportunity to rotate between our inpatient endoscopy department (Outpatient Diagnostics) and Mercy's new outpatient digestive health institute (Kathryn Ann Meinders)!

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program

  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements

  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

 
Physical Requirements: 

  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. 

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
