This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered surgical services through collaborative leadership, sound operational management, and fiscal responsibility.</p><p>The Executive Director partners closely with physician leaders, caregivers, and hospital leadership to drive excellence in performance, quality, and patient outcomes.</p><h3></h3><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Develop and maintain effective working relationships and open lines of communication with caregivers, physicians, and leadership across departments</li><li>Collaborate with management teams to achieve departmental goals and organizational priorities</li><li>Serve as a resource for ancillary areas utilizing comparable services, equipment, or procedures</li><li>Maintain awareness of professional standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices at local, state, and national levels</li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards and departmental workflows</li><li>Establish and oversee inventory management systems for surgical supplies and instrumentation, ensuring appropriate par levels, turnaround times, and communication regarding equipment availability</li><li>Lead human resource functions including interviewing, hiring, and supporting caregiver development</li><li>Meet with vendors to evaluate product lines, recommend alternatives, and support cost-containment initiatives</li><li>Participate in contract negotiations, implementation, and ongoing compliance</li><li>Collaborate closely with surgeons and surgical teams to ensure smooth transitions related to products, equipment, and procedural changes</li><li>Analyze financial and operational reports to support informed business decisions and cost-benefit evaluations</li></ul><h3></h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><b>Education & Experience</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field or business required</li><li>Minimum of <b>2 years of leadership experience</b> in the Perioperative space</li><li>Master’s degree strongly preferred</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Skills & Competencies</b></p><ul><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead others with professionalism, kindness, and respect</li><li>Proven capability to interpret and compile financial data to support operational and strategic decisions</li><li>Effective collaborator with physicians, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams</li></ul><h3></h3><h2>Why Mercy?</h2><h2>Mercy is committed to bringing to life a healing ministry through compassionate care and exceptional service.
