Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract
Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist in Tucson, AZ. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve daily living and instrumental activities while working in a hospital setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Active Arizona Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience in an acute care or hospital environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and document progress per facility policy.
- Experience supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and students preferred.
- Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with safe patient handling and materials handling protocols.
- Experience with discharge planning, adaptive equipment recommendations, and caregiver training.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient-safety focused practices.

- Shift pattern: Day (5x8).

The Occupational Therapist assesses level of functioning upon physician orders and implements appropriate treatment based on assessment. Responsibilities include participation in interdisciplinary team meetings, discharge planning, documentation per department policy, supervision of COTAs and students, and promotion of patient and employee safety. The role requires adherence to facility guidelines for appearance, attendance, and punctuality. Clinicians are expected to engage in quality improvement activities and maintain patient confidentiality.
