The client is seeking a Director, Philanthropic Advising to lead efforts in providing strategic guidance to philanthropists and foundations interested in supporting basic science research. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to engage and advise philanthropists on effective science giving. The Director will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, foundation leaders, and the scientific community. A significant part of the role includes designing and facilitating workshops, webinars, and other educational programs to increase philanthropic investment in basic science. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with the team to develop resources and tools that support philanthropic advising. Representing the client at conferences and events to promote the importance of basic science philanthropy is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a scientific field or equivalent experience in philanthropy or non-profit management, along with significant experience in philanthropic advising or donor relations. A deep understanding of the scientific research landscape and the role of private philanthropy is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to engage effectively with high-net-worth individuals and institutional leaders. The candidate must have a proven ability to lead projects and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
