Forensic Underwriter

A company is looking for a Forensic Underwriter to perform in-depth reviews of closed mortgage loans for compliance and fraud detection.



Key Responsibilities:

Re-underwrite closed loan files to ensure compliance with agency or lender guidelines
Analyze closing documentation and perform investigations to identify potential fraud
Prepare formal written responses to agencies/investors regarding audit findings


Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 5 years' underwriting experience in manual and automated environments
Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
Experience with transaction components that indicate potential fraud
Ellie Mae Encompass experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
