Job Summary


  • The sonographer is accountable for:
  • Assists/maintains computer data for all the work done.
  • Assures that studies completed are available to the Radiologist or appropriate physician.
  • Demonstrates appropriate monitoring techniques & use of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains care of probes, sterilization and safety.
  • Performs diagnostic ultrasounds and assures that studies completed are available for radiology interpretation and viable to appropriate physicians. -


    Education and/or Experience


    Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    One to two years of additional ultrasound experience/training preferred.
    ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Registered as a diagnostic sonographer and/or registered vascular technology (RVT) with an accrediting body such as the ARRT or ARDMS. Required.
    -New Graduates must have initial registry within 12 months of hire.
    BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 6 months of hire and must be maintained.


    License/Certification/Registration


    ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)


    Work Schedule


    Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks


    Occasional weekend - - Weekend shift differential pay
    Occasional holiday - - - Holiday Pay
    Occasional call time - - On Call Pay - -

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
