Primary Purpose:The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department and overseeing the Credentialing function in the organization. The credentialing role focuses on verifying the credentials of KPHC providers to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The Human Resources Generalist is also responsible for employee leave management that includes educating staff on their leave benefits and eligibility and executing said leaves when applicable.Essential Duties:Credentialing
  • Responsible for overseeing the KPHC internal credentialing and insurance credentialing of new and existing providers.
  • Ensure all credentialing and recredentialing applications are completed in a timely manner and supporting documents are attached and up to date.
  • Responsible for Initial Credentialing for all new providers upon hire.
  • Be the point of contact for all Insurance carriers regarding credentialing.
  • Keep track of and manage all applications, updating HR Director on the status of applications.
  • Create and maintain credentialing folders.
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements related to credentialing and ensure that the organization complies with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Perform primary source and secondary source verifications (education and training, state licensures, criminal background, etc.) in compliance with CARF and HRSA requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting all necessary inquiries (i.e. OIG, SAM, NPBD, etc.) and inform the HR Director of any flagged results.
  • Track and follow-up with providers and other licensed staff to ensure licenses and certifications are up to date.Employee Leave and Benefits Administration
  • Manages all aspects of leave and accommodation requests by providing case management, coordinating administrative aspects of the case and any applicable claims.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Interprets and proactively administers leave and accommodation programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Workers' Compensation etc.), including complex leaves and accommodations interacting with multiple laws, benefits, and business demands.
  • Performs necessary follow-up, involving providers, employees, and all levels of management to obtain further information or clarification on leave and accommodation cases.
  • Documents and maintains information regarding leave and accommodation cases.
  • Educates employees about the employee benefits impacted by the leave of absence including but not limited to PTO accrual & Temporary Disability Insurance usage, Health Insurance and other benefit premiums, and annual mandatory leave balances.
  • Manages the expectations of employees and management, ensuring they understand their role and HR's role in leave and accommodation management.
  • Provides educational support to management and employees related to compliance and administration of leaves and accommodations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Conducts audits of benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and confirms eligibility.Other Duties
  • Assists HR department with various research and/or special projects as needed.
  • Assists with All-Staff Meetings and other employee events as needed.
  • Processes mail and assists with or prepares correspondence when needed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files and prepares new employee files.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.Minimum Qualification Requirements:Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.Experience:
  • At least one year of human resource experience preferred.
