Automotive A/C Technician
We are a small, family owned auto repair business, specializing in automotive A/C, cooling, heating and electrical systems. We are looking for an A Level or high B Level Technician to join our team! The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has their own high-quality tools and scanners. A tech that is comfortable correctly diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems (including the removal and reinstallation of dashboards) in various makes and models of automobile. Since we are primarily an automotive A/C shop, a large portion of your earnings will be made during the hot spring and summer months. Responsibilities:
• Utilize knowledge, experience, and diagnostic tools to diagnose issues on customer vehicle
• Perform detailed inspection of systems, noting and informing Service Writer of recommended additional/preventive maintenance repairs needed
• Determine parts and labor time needed to perform additional diagnostics and/or repairs
• Work with General Manager and Service Writer to create repair plan for customer
• Service vehicles in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with industry standards
• Keep up with required knowledge and skills in automotive industry to ensure high quality work
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by putting tools, materials, and parts away as work is completed
• Follow all safety requirements and local and federal standards when it comes to disposing of hazardous or toxic material
• Adhere to best practices when working by reporting any accidents or incidents to management as soon as possible
• Own and maintain high quality required tools to perform repairs, including diagnostic tools
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years automotive heating, cooling, and AC experience
• Strong knowledge of AC theory
• Ability to disassemble and correctly reassemble dash systems and interior components of various makes and models of vehicles
• Excellent automotive AC/heat diagnostics
• Strong knowledge of general automotive repair, and automotive systems, specifically air conditioning, heating, cooling and electrical
• Strong working knowledge of diagnostic tools
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including basic computing skills
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills
• Excellent electronic diagnostic skills, with ability to read and understand schematics
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
• Ability to work both independently, as a self-starter and to collaborate and work with other team members
• ASE Certifications preferred
• A valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
