Materials Management Engineer

Position Overview
Sewon America, Inc. is seeking a Materials Management Engineer to support its automotive manufacturing operations through specialized expertise in materials planning, SAP-based ERP systems, procurement coordination, and supply chain management. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted production flow, accurate material availability, and efficient coordination between internal departments and global suppliers.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), and the ability to manage complex materials and production requirements in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage materials planning and procurement activities using SAP ERP (Materials Management, BOM, and related modules)
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure continuous material availability to support production schedules
• Coordinate with suppliers to manage delivery schedules, material specifications, and procurement requirements
• Support production planning by aligning material flow with manufacturing schedules and demand forecasts
• Utilize MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data to track material usage and production requirements
• Analyze material shortages, delays, and supply chain risks, and implement corrective actions to prevent production disruption
• Maintain accurate ERP records for procurement, inventory, and material transactions
• Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure operational alignment
• Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and BOM updates within SAP systems
• Ensure compliance with internal materials management procedures and operational standards
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in materials planning and supply chain efficiency
• Provide real-time support for production-critical material issues to minimize downtime

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of SAP ERP systems (MM module preferred)
• Understanding of BOM (Bill of Materials), inventory control, and production planning processes
• Ability to analyze complex data and support operational decision-making
• Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-functional teamwork
• Ability to work in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment
