Alliance & Business Development Associate (736108)
The Alliance & Business Development Associate will have the following specific job responsibilities:
1) Conduct market research to identify and evaluate innovative drug development, service, and technology opportunities from the pre-clinical stage through commercialization;
2) Participate in developing marketing strategies to strengthen brand visibility through professional networks, social media, and other channels;
3) Support strategic business and alliance initiatives through the development and implementation of individual marketing campaigns;
4) Collect data to track industry trends, customer demographics, therapeutic interests, competitor activity, and support alliance execution by applying market insights and best practices to drive success;
5) Support the identification and evaluation of potential partners by conducting outreach and facilitating initial discussions for licensing, investment, or collaboration opportunities;
6) Support management by developing statistical and financial models based on marketing and sales projections to inform decision-making;
7) Use statistical techniques, CRM tools, and digital reporting platforms to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and recommend data-driven optimizations;
8) Support execution of business development projects by coordinating planning, reporting, documentation, and risk tracking;
9) Maintain business development and account management databases, including data curation and translation of key materials;
10) Participate in client meetings and prepare and deliver compelling business development presentations;
11) Support alliance and partnership efforts through due diligence coordination, research planning, and collaboration with internal teams or clients;
12) Negotiate complex deals, including licensing agreements, collaborations, and partnerships, to secure favorable terms for the company;
13) Strategize and coordinate the company’s presence at industry conferences and events by managing branding materials, scheduling marketing communications, identifying business opportunities, planning partnering meetings, capturing leads, and supporting post-event analysis.
Required Travel: Occasional domestic travel (no more than twice per year, 2-5 days per trip) to support business development conferences.
Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The experience and education requirements are:
A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated employment experience in market research and business development focused on the pharmaceutical or healthcare-related products or services.
Required experience must include the following:
1) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in designing and implementing marketing campaigns focused on the pharmaceuticals, therapies or healthcare related products or services;
2) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in conducting market research and analyzing market trends focused on the pharmaceuticals, therapies or healthcare related products or services;
3) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in utilizing pharmaceutical databases including GlobalData and Cortellis to conduct competitive studies and portfolio analysis;
4) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in relationship building to facilitate business development and partnerships in a global setting;
5) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in strategizing and coordinating a company’s attendance of industry exhibitions or trade shows to promote brand presence and identify partnering opportunities;
6) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in analyzing marketing metrics, net present value (NPV), and discounted cash flow (DCF) to facilitate the decision making on partnering deals;
7) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting marketing pitch or business development capability reports;
8) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in sales negotiation and contract management; and,
9) A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in driving lead opportunity generation and pipeline tracking, managing client relationships, and recording partnering activities using CRM tools, such as Salesforce.
Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable).
